We were taught in the tutorial today how to apply a material. I chose a watery texture to compliment my iteration as it has the look of a whirlpool.

New direction
After talking with Sunny about my 3 chosen words and the narrative that I wanted to be told through my iterations I have decided to take a whole new path with my iterations which better reflects my words of chaos, violent and whirling.
First Iterations
These are the first 5 iterations of my model. I have used modifiers such as lattice, bend, twist and smooth to contort it so that it has a violent and harsh look.
Solidworks final
After getting the hang of solidworks and forming a solid shape from it I decided to redo my starting form so that it was to better represent my words violent, whirling and chaos. This form displays these words a lot clearer and therefore will be used to start making my iterations.

DSDN 104-Solidworks
This is the result of my first play with solidworks. I created this shape from aspects of my second precedent image. I will now transfer this 3D shape into 3ds max and start forming some iterations.

DSDN 104-Precedent Images
This is my first precedent image for project one and I think it portrays my 3 chosen words well. It looks violent and as though there is suction. What I like about this image is the way the eye is drawn into the middle of the image and reminds me of the eye of a tornado. Also the contrast between the dark background and the intense, almost blinding light is very effective.
This is my second precedent image which really portrays the word violent with its spiked points jutting out at various angles. It looks almost space like with the black background. I like the randomness of the spikes, how they're not symmetrical. Also the cluster of white spots in the centre draws the eyes and is a little unexpected. This image has a whirling nature like ninja spikes that spin when they are thrown.
Word's development
From the 2 sketches that I drew the one that I wish to develop further is my sketch for the word kite as I believe I came up with an interesting image that could be taken in many ways.
From this sketch I have come up with a number of words, On first glance the word that comes to mind is spirals such as the path a kite would take when it is in flight. These spirals were erratic and had no pattern. From this I started think about other words for erractic such as irregular and disorder, which lead me to think of my first word, which is chaos.
I then thought of what the word chaos conjured up in my mind. When I think of chaos I think of tornados, hurricanes and most natural disasters. All of these words are quite violent, which became my second word.
I now had a noun and an adjective and am just needing a verb. I thought of words that went along with chaos and violent and natural disasters in general. I came up with conflict, crash and whirling. The last word that i have decided to go with is: whirling.
I now have my 3 words:
Noun: Chaos
Adjective: Violent
Verb: Whirling
